One Tree Yulara Children's Service is a welcoming and community-focused service providing high-quality early childhood education and care for children across a range of age groups. About the position
As Director, you will lead, inspire, and mentor educators to ensure the service delivers high-quality early childhood education in a remote Aboriginal community. You will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the centre, supporting and warmly welcoming children and families, and recognising and developing the strengths of children and the team in accordance with One Tree Community Service's spirit, purpose and values.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead, inspire and mentor the education staff.
* Oversee operations of the centre, supporting children and families.
* Act as Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader.
* Recognise and develop strengths in children and staff.
* Maintain compliance with the organisation's code of ethics, vision, policies, procedures and culture.
* Build and maintain successful relationships with staff, families, and the community.
* Manage staff performance, recruitment, and performance appraisals.
* Commit to continuous improvement and efficiencies in service delivery.
* Ensure knowledge of relevant state and Commonwealth laws and regulations.
Selection Criteria
* Exceptional organisational skills including time management, scheduling, coordinating resources, and meeting deadlines.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Commitment to comply with the organisation's code of ethics, vision (spirit), policies and procedures, and support the culture.
* Experience in building successful relationships with staff, families, and community.
* Experience in managing staff, including performance management, recruitment, and performance appraisals.
* Commitment to continuous improvement and efficiencies in service delivery.
* Knowledge of relevant state and Commonwealth laws and regulations.

Qualifications / Requirements
* Eligible to work in Australia and willing to relocate to Kowanyama.
* Diploma in early childhood/ACECQA approved equivalent or above.
* Current QLD Working with Children Check.
* Satisfactory National Police Clearance.
* Valid driver's licence.
* First Aid & CPR certificates or willingness to obtain.
