Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineers – Water Infrastructure – (260000BG)
Overview
Stantec's Water team in Australia leads major projects that positively impact communities across the country. With a portfolio of long‐term framework contracts and key water authority clients, we are looking to expand our teams with experienced EI&C Engineers to join our Water Infrastructure team in Brisbane, Gold Coast, or Sunshine Coast.
Responsibilities
* Perform electrical and I&C engineering design, including modelling, engineering drawings, calculations, reports, and design criteria to support electrical engineering projects.
* Perform calculations to analyze and design electrical systems using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
* Assist in the design of electrical and control systems and the development of drawings, schedules and specifications.
* Contribute to the development of electrical systems through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
* Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, and client communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.
* Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
* Prepare electrical and control system documents by developing construction specifications, drawings and schedules.
* Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, respond to requests for information, prepare site observation reports, and perform other contract administration tasks.
* Recognise when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
* Be available for site visits or project commissioning as required from time to time.
* Be stationed in a client environment on short secondments when required.
* Recognise and champion safe working practices in the industry.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering with an emphasis on Electrical or Instrumentation/Controls.
* Previous experience working in consultancy is a must.
* Between 3 to 10 years' experience in a similar position with well‐rounded experience in Water and Wastewater projects.
* Knowledge and experience in LV and MV power systems in Australia.
* Experience with industry standard power engineering software tools such as PowerCAD, SKM PTW and ETAP.
* Highly developed communication skills to engage with clients and other stakeholders to achieve mutually successful project outcomes.
* Working towards or having achieved CPEng and RPEQ status.
* Willingness to offer mentorship to junior engineers based on appropriate level of knowledge.
* Full work rights to work in Australia.
