Key Job Role: Veterinary Anaesthetist
Greencross Veterinary Hospital seeks a dedicated and skilled veterinary anaesthetist to join our multidisciplinary team.
This exciting role involves working closely with specialist surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre nurses to provide expert care before, during and after surgery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient safety, delivering exceptional anaesthetic and recovery care, maintaining smooth surgical workflows and contributing to our mission of clinical excellence.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
* Deliver high-quality anaesthetic care to patients undergoing surgery from consultation to post-operative recovery.
* Work closely with surgeons and anaesthetists to ensure optimal patient safety and efficiency in theatre.
* Monitor anaesthesia and patient parameters using advanced monitoring equipment, responding proactively to changes.
* Collaborate with theatre teams to maintain sterile fields, manage surgical instrumentation and support set-up and pack-down.
* Oversee patient recovery, providing attentive post-operative monitoring and comfort care.
* Contribute to the education and mentorship of veterinary students during their surgical rotations.
* Uphold hospital protocols and standards to ensure consistent excellence in patient care.
Requirements and Benefits
* Advanced qualification in veterinary anaesthesia or equivalent essential.
* Minimum 2 years in a surgical anaesthesia or specialist hospital setting preferred.
* Strong technical skills including anaesthetic monitoring, sterile technique and patient recovery.
