Job Description
As a Hospital Pathology Collector (Phlebotomist), you will be reporting to the Hospital Collector Lead and working in a team across all wards including Pediatrics, Medical, ICU, CCU, Emergency, Oncology, Special Care Nursery, Maternity and Rehabilitation, delivering excellent customer service and quality healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaising and building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders within the hospital, including doctors, nurses and patients
* Advanced Pathology Collection – collecting samples (blood and non‐blood) across different wards and areas, including Pediatrics, difficult bleeds and AGBs with care and attention
* Keeping meticulous records for every patient and sample
Attributes & Skills
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge in phlebotomy, ideally with Certificate III in Pathology Collection, or nursing background
* Excellent liaison and communication skills, with high level of empathy and patient‐centred approach
* Organised, with high attention to detail
* Hold or willing to obtain a working with Children's Check
* Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work
Vaccination Requirements
* Hepatitis B vaccination required
* Other vaccinations based on location or setting may be required
