Overview
You'll join a highly regarded Brisbane medico-legal defence practice acting for healthcare professionals, hospitals and health‐related businesses across civil claims, regulatory investigations, disciplinary proceedings and personal injury matters. The role will have a strong health focus, while retaining exposure to broader insurance litigation.
Key Responsibilities
Defending negligence claims, responding to AHPRA and Ombudsman investigations, handling disciplinary and coronial matters, and advising on other sensitive issues affecting healthcare practitioners and organisations.
Essential Qualifications
This role will suit a Lawyer or Associate with defendant personal injury or insurance litigation experience who is ready to move into a more specialised health‐facing practice and build their capability across professional indemnity, disciplinary and regulatory work.
Benefits
The culture is another genuine advantage. This is a technically strong insurance team with a more relaxed and approachable environment than many specialist firms in the market. Targets are achievable, bonuses are generous for those who exceed them, and the overall setting is well‐suited to someone who wants high‐quality work without the harder edges that can come with some insurance practices. In addition, you'll work closely with senior practitioners known for their depth in health law, and the broader practice includes public liability and other insurance matters, offering variety alongside its core medico‐legal focus.
