Landfill Operator - Local Council Casual Role
Northern Rivers: Surrounding areas including Lismore / Casino / Rappville / Kyogle
$36 - $40 p/h + Super | 8-Day Fortnight | 3‐Month Contract
Spinifex Recruiting is seeking an experienced Landfill Operator to support local council landfill operations. This is a hands-on operational role suited to a skilled plant operator with strong safety awareness and experience working in regulated waste management environments. About the Role
You will be working within a council landfill facility, operating a range of plant and equipment to support day-to-day waste management and landfilling operations. Duties are carried out under limited supervision while ensuring strict compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
Roster & Hours
* 8 days per fortnight
o Week 1: 5 days
o Week 2: 3 days
* Standard hours: 8 hours per day
* Contract duration: 3 months
Key Accountabilities
* Operate and maintain plant and equipment including front end loaders, excavators, and compactors
* Complete routine landfill and waste management tasks such as:
o Loading skip bins
o Moving and managing stockpiles
o Conducting landfilling activities
* Work in compliance with EPA standards, licence conditions, and council procedures
* Take appropriate remedial action to address environmental or operational issues
* Maintain a strong focus on safety, environmental responsibility, and teamwork
Essential Qualifications & Licences
* White Card
* Certificate LL - Front End Loader
* Certificate LE - Excavator
* Certificate - Self‐Propelled Compactor
* SafeWork High Risk Licence LF - Forklift
* Current Class HR Driver's Licence

* Proven experience operating plant in landfill, waste, civil or council environments
