OUR CLIENT Sydney | Major Projects | Tier 1 Contractor An outstanding opportunity has become available with a nationally recognised Tier 1 contractor seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead their Sydney-based HVAC estimating function. This is a key leadership appointment within a highly regarded business that delivers some of Australia's largest and most complex mechanical projects across the commercial, healthcare, education, defence, correctional and government sectors. With a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work, the successful candidate will take ownership of the estimating function, leading a team of four estimators while driving major tenders valued between $50M and $200M. THE OPPORTUNITY Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing all estimating activities across major HVAC and mechanical projects. Key responsibilities include: Leading and mentoring a team of four estimators. Managing the end-to-end tendering process for major projects. Reviewing project documentation, specifications and design requirements. Developing winning tender strategies and pricing methodologies. Managing subcontractor and supplier pricing submissions. Identifying commercial risks and opportunities. Presenting tender submissions to senior stakeholders and clients. Building and maintaining strong relationships with builders, consultants and key industry stakeholders. Driving consistency, accuracy and best-practice estimating processes across the business. ABOUT YOU This role is suited to an established Estimating Manager with a proven track record delivering large-scale HVAC tenders within the mechanical major projects industry. To be considered, you will demonstrate: Extensive HVAC / Mechanical estimating experience 5- 10 years Previous experience leading an estimating team within a mechanical services contractor. A successful history of delivering tenders on projects ranging from $50M to $200M. Strong exposure to large-scale commercial construction projects. Exceptional leadership and people management capabilities. Advanced commercial and contractual understanding. Excellent stakeholder engagement and client-facing skills. The confidence and credibility to present to clients, consultants and executive leadership teams. A polished, professional approach and strong communication skills.
