Senior Civil Engineer - Mining Projects
Location: Flexible Newcastle / Sydney or Brisbane
Type: Initial 12 month contract
Join a leading engineering team delivering critical infrastructure across Australia's mining sector. We're seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of mining and brownfields projects across the East Coast.
About the Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership and design expertise across a range of sustaining capital and brownfields projects. You'll work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to every phase of the project lifecycle - from concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction support.
Key Responsibilities
Lead civil design and documentation
for mining and heavy industrial projects.
Manage project delivery across multiple sites within the East Coast portfolio.
Provide technical guidance, review, and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure designs meet operational and safety requirements.
Support construction phases with practical, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.
About You
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
6+ years' experience in civil engineering, ideally in
mining or heavy industrial brownfields environments
.
Proven success
delivering sustaining capital
or small-to-medium brownfields projects through all project stages.
Proficient in civil design and modelling tools - 12D experience highly regarded.
Strong capability in drainage, earthworks, and site infrastructure design.
Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
