Overview

Youth Worker / Training & Placement Officer (Youth Consultant)

Looking for a role where you can genuinely change the trajectory of young people's lives — while growing your own career? JobQuest is seeking passionate, motivated and professional people to join our highly respected team supporting young people to develop skills, confidence and pathways into employment and further training.

Whether you're an experienced youth professional, someone ready for a meaningful career change, or a recent graduate eager to build real-world experience — this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

About the Role

Our Youth Worker / Training & Placement Officers support engaging programs delivered across schools and community settings. No two days are the same — you'll be mentoring, facilitating activities, supporting training outcomes and helping young people take positive steps toward their future.

Key responsibilities:

* Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality sessions for groups of young people
* Supporting employability skills, confidence building and work readiness
* Building strong relationships with students, schools, employers and stakeholders
* Assisting with training delivery, placements and program administration
* Traveling to schools and program sites as required

About You

We're looking for people who are professional, reliable and genuinely passionate about youth development.

Applicants must have:

* A strong interest in working with young people
* Excellent rapport-building and communication skills
* Driver's licence and own reliable vehicle
* Strong computer skills — Google Suite experience preferred (not essential)
* Flexibility — hours are generally school-based but may vary
* Experience working with young people (formal or informal)
* Understanding of challenges young people face entering employment
* Working With Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)

Highly regarded:

* Training & Assessment qualifications (or willingness to undertake — we will support you)
* Knowledge of the local labour/employment market
* Casual staff must be available Mondays plus at least two additional weekdays.

Grow Your Qualifications With Us

At JobQuest, we invest in our people. If you are interested in building your capability in vocational training, we offer support to complete formal Training and Assessment qualifications. This may include mentoring, practical workplace experience, and guidance to help you develop the skills needed to confidently support accredited training delivery and youth programs. Where appropriate, JobQuest may contribute to training costs and provide supported time to undertake study, aligned with organisational needs and individual development plans.

Why Join JobQuest?

We know award-based roles can still be rewarding, supportive and full of growth — and that's exactly what we offer:

* A genuinely supportive, collaborative team environment
* Ongoing training, mentoring and professional development
* Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives every day
* Salary sacrifice options (after probationary period)
* Monthly RDO available for full-time staff (optional arrangement)
* Travel reimbursement
* Structured onboarding and opportunities to build new skills
* A respected organisation with over 25 years supporting youth pathways

Salary: $30.57 – $45.59 per hour (Labour Market Assistance Industry Award), based on experience, qualifications and employment type.
