The Electrical Project Engineer acts as the technical bridge between the various engineering groups and the on-site execution team. The role ensures the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget by managing logistics, reviewing technical designs, and coordinating between stakeholders, with a strong focus on the electrical work packages. Project: Snowy Hydro 2.0 – Major renewable / pumped hydro infrastructure Salary: Base up to $180K Super Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Scheduling: Assist in developing construction programs, tracking daily progress, and managing resource allocation. Identify and troubleshoot design discrepancies while ensuring compliance with standards. Technical Planning (Electrical): Interpret electrical engineering drawings, schematics, and erection documentation. Understand the electrical scope of works on site and how installation will be executed. Work Package Development: Support the project team in planning and coordinating tools, labour, services, and resources required for electrical installation works. Inventory & Materials Planning: Work with warehouse and procurement teams to ensure all electrical materials and equipment are delivered to site in line with project timelines. Budget & Cost Management: Track electrical scope expenditures, review invoices, manage procurement, and identify cost efficiencies. Quality & Compliance: Ensure all electrical works comply with relevant standards, specifications, and safety/environmental regulations. Lead and participate in troubleshooting sessions to resolve technical issues. Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to resolve electrical and technical challenges. Essential Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline). Experience: 5–8 years’ experience in on-site/project engineering, ideally within large-scale infrastructure, energy, or construction projects. Technical Skills: Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings and documentation. Experience with project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6). Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate in fast-paced project environments. Able to commit to a 5/2 ( Monday to Friday ) roster either in Goulburn or Cooma for 2 years. Project Information Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme, and construction of this major pumped-hydro project is well underway. Once complete, the Scheme will provide 2000 megawatts of dispatchable, on-demand renewable power and approximately 350,000 megawatt hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market.
