Tableland Kit Sheds is seeking a full‐time skilled and motivated Carpenter. As a Carpenter you will contribute to the construction, installation, and finishing of steel‐framed and timber components across a range of residential, rural, and light commercial projects. The role involves assembling and fitting structural steel, cladding, and framing systems, along with completing timber works for internal fit‐outs and liveable areas. This position supports the delivery of high‐quality, custom‐built sheds and structures consistent with Tableland Kit Sheds' standards for workmanship, safety, and compliance.
We are offering a salary of $76,515 plus 12% superannuation to the successful applicant. You must be able to meet the criteria listed below:
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Interpret building plans, engineered drawings, and specifications to identify materials, measurements, and installation requirements.
* Select, prepare, and assemble steel framing, cladding, and related components according to project plans.
* Measure, cut, drill, and fasten steel and metal materials using hand and power tools.
* Erect wall and roof frameworks, install bracing, sheeting, and structural supports, and ensure all assemblies are square, level, and compliant with design.
* Carry out timber carpentry works as required for liveable or internal fit‐outs, including framing, flooring, doors, windows, and finishing tasks.
* Construct or install fascia, sheeting, doors, windows, and other structural and finishing components to specification.
* Assemble prefabricated or pre‐cut sections (steel or timber) and fit them accurately on‐site.
* Carry out formwork and concrete preparation when required for foundations or footings.
* Repair, adjust, or refurbish existing structures, fittings, or cladding components as needed.
* Coordinate with other trades, installers, and site supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and project delivery.
* Inspect completed work to confirm quality, accuracy, and compliance with engineering drawings and customer requirements.
* Maintain strict adherence to workplace health and safety standards, including the safe handling of steel materials and work at heights.
* Work with a range of materials including steel, aluminium, plywood, wallboard, timber, and plastic laminates.
Skills and Experience
* At least 3 years of proven trade experience in carpentry, metal framing, or general construction.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
* Proficiency with hand and power tools for both timber and metal work.
* Strong focus on accuracy, quality workmanship, and safe site practices.
* Flexibility to work on a range of structure types (sheds, carports, garages, and liveable fit‐outs).
* Ability to work in a safe manner, drive EQP Machinery and comply with WHS.
* Must hold or be willing to obtain White Card.
