Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Project Engineer to perform and coordinate electrical design activities for transportable switch rooms and related switchboards, ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards. Deliver accurate engineering designs and technical documentation to support successful project execution.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and review electrical designs, drawings, specifications and documentation for switch room projects.
* Develop single line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, cable routing layouts and earthing designs.
* Perform and verify electrical calculations, including cable sizing and termination schedules.
* Ensure all designs comply with applicable standards, client requirements and Mayfield Industries procedures.
* Review and check design and drafting work to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance.
* Collaborate with Project Managers, clients and consultants to resolve technical queries and manage design changes.
* Identify, assess and mitigate technical, cost and schedule risks throughout project delivery.
* Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors and procurement teams to support project execution.
* Drive continuous improvement by refining design processes and developing automated design tools and solutions.
* Maintain strong customer relationships and provide technical support to achieve successful project outcomes.
Skills & Experience / Qualifications
* Minimum 3-5 years' experience in switchboards, switch rooms, substation/manufacture or project environment.
* Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers.
* Experience with CAD design software (e.g., AutoCAD, or similar).
* Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
