The Ministry of Justice Te Tāhū o te Ture is seeking an experienced Senior Communications and Engagement Advisor to deliver end-to‑end communication services across the Ministry through the provision of strategic communications advice, planning and delivery.
You will craft compelling content for a range of channels and audiences, so your writing skills will be second to none.
Additionally, you will support the Ministry with designing, planning and delivering engagement activities internally and externally. Your knowledge of te ao Māori and tikanga Māori will help us build strong relationships.
Ō Pūkenga / Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in communications and/or stakeholder engagement, with demonstrable experience in a senior advisory role
- Proven ability to develop and execute communications strategies and plans that drive stakeholder engagement
- Exceptional writing, editing and presentation skills, with a knack for distilling complex information into clear and compelling content
- Exceptional relationship‑management skills and the ability to form strong working relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders
- Understanding of current and emerging digital communication trends and platforms
- Understanding of the machinery of government, and experience navigating a large or complex public‑sector agency
- Experience, knowledge, skills and capabilities to confidently communicate and engage with Māori kaimahi, whānau, hapū and iwi
- Experience coaching and mentoring other communications professionals

Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $98,208 and $135,539 based on skills and experience.
