Maintenance Fitter - Food Manufacturing Facility

About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of food processing and packaging equipment. You will work closely with production teams to minimise downtime, improve plant performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role operates on a rotating shift pattern: Early Shift Monday - Thursday 5:00am - 1:00pm, Friday 5:00am - 11:00am; Afternoon Shift Monday - Thursday 1:00pm - 9:00pm, Friday 1:00pm - 7:00pm. The early Friday finishes provide an excellent work-life balance and a head start to the weekend.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform planned preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
* Support continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
* Conduct equipment inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records.
* Work safely and ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and workplace health and safety standards.
* Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
* Collaborate effectively with production and engineering teams.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, or equivalent.
* Previous experience within a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing experience highly desirable).
* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
* Experience with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatic systems, and production machinery.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
* Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Highly Desirable: Experience working with thermoforming machinery and packaging equipment will be highly regarded. Candidates with proven thermoforming experience may be eligible for employer-sponsored visa opportunities, subject to meeting relevant immigration and company requirements.
