This position supports the Financial Controller in delivering financial and taxation reporting.
The successful candidate will oversee daily financial administration, manage treasury activities, prepare statutory reports, and maintain high-quality financial systems.
As part of a small finance team, the role involves working closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers to provide trusted financial guidance.
Key Responsibilities
* Cash Flow Management: Maintain a robust financial control environment, ensuring timely cash flow management and treasury operations.
* Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate statutory financial statements, ATO reports, and support audit processes.
* Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset controls, and financial system accuracy.
* Talent Development: Mentor junior finance staff, contributing to their performance, development, and wellbeing.
* Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, strengthen controls, and support organisational risk management.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced finance professional with strong technical accounting skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to operate in a dynamic environment.
Essential Requirements
* Australian citizenship
* Ability to obtain and hold a current NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance (minimum)
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
* Qualification (or near completion) as a CPA or Chartered Accountant
* Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline such as Economics, Commerce, or Accounting
* Five (5) years' experience in a similar field
