About the Opportunity
The SUPPS team provides specialist antenatal and postnatal complex care to women with substance use issues. Women are identified in the antenatal period and intervention continues until the child reaches 2 years of age. The social worker is to provide a professional social work service to the women/family/carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes.
Primarily the position is to provide assessment, counselling, therapeutic interventions and referral to assist women/family/carers to develop healthy and secure relationships within families and to enhance whole family functioning
As a senior clinician, the social worker is required to demonstrate clinical specialty, provide supervision to junior social work staff and provide clinical leadership.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- A bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Social Work, along with eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), reflecting a comprehensive understanding of both generalist and specialist knowledge within the field.
- An unencumbered driver's license, facilitating travel across the district and to external sites as necessary to fulfill professional duties.
- Demonstrated adept independent professional judgment in providing evidence-informed clinical services to clients, their families/carers, and fellow health professionals, particularly in navigating complex cases while adhering to current AASW Practice Standards.
- Experience in proactively identifying strategies, evaluating, and reporting on continuous improvement initiatives aimed at refining and optimising the effectiveness and efficiency of clinical service delivery.
