As the Finance and Administration Officer, you will specifically:
* Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* Assist with the management of financial systems for the payment of centre accounts including monthly reconciliations, banking requirements and tracking of payments.
* Administer and oversee trust accounts for detained young people, petty cash account, including reimbursement and reconciliation.
* Process requisitions and arrange for the procurement of goods/services, excluding the purchases of stores, and medical consumables, in accordance with purchasing requirements and prepare necessary purchase orders for items and materials as required under the direction of the Manager Finance and Administration
* Assist in the maintenance of the Youth Detention Centre's asset register, including coordinating stocktakes of equipment Coordinate, arrange and monitor travel requirements for young people, staff and visitors.
* Prepare written reports and routine correspondence as required, and maintain the accountable documents register for the Youth Detention Centre.
* Participate productively and collaboratively as a member of a team in delivering support and services to clients.
* Provide supervision and training to administrative and support staff in relevant Youth Detention Centre systems.
* Assist with budgeting and analysis of centres financial position as required.
