Brighton Wine Bar is a coastal wine bar and restaurant in Scarborough, now open and trading strongly after our first few months. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our brand new kitchen, shape the menu and help take the venue into its next stage. Brighton is a relaxed yet refined venue with a strong focus on wine, seasonal food, local produce and genuine hospitality. The kitchen is a huge part of the identity of the venue, and we are looking for someone who is excited to lead from the front, bring their own ideas to the food offering and create a menu that feels thoughtful, generous and suited to a coastal wine bar setting. We're locally based owner‐operators with 30+ years of combined hospitality experience and a genuine passion for great food, wine and hospitality.
The Role
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day kitchen operation, including:
* Leading and developing the kitchen team
* Shaping and evolving the menu with a focus on seasonal, local and high‐quality produce
* Bringing creative direction and consistency to the food offering
* Maintaining presentation, standards and service flow
* Managing ordering, stock control, food costs and wastage
* Working closely with the owners and venue management team
* Creating a positive, organised and professional kitchen culture
* Ensuring food safety, compliance and kitchen systems are maintained
What We're Looking For

* Previous experience as a Head Chef
* A genuine passion for food, wine and hospitality
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* A calm, organised and solutions‐focused approach
* Confidence with menu development, costing and kitchen systems
* A good understanding of food safety and compliance
* The ability to build, train and retain a strong kitchen team
