Chief Executive Officer - Stave Therapeutics
You will be the CEO and primary business leader of Stave Therapeutics, working alongside a scientifically strong founder group and board, to translate the program into a partnerable, investment‐grade, and clinically ready company. You will lead capital strategy, investor engagement, commercial partnering, external operations, and company‐building, while also owning key vendor relationships, budgets, contracts, and execution across the preclinical, IND‐enabling, and early clinical pathway, including the Australian CTN Phase 1 trial and subsequent US FDA Phase 2 positioning.
Key responsibilities
* Lead the company's strategic direction in partnership with the board, ensuring alignment between scientific priorities, development milestones, financing strategy, and partnering objectives
* Own capital strategy across private financing, strategic capital, grants, and other relevant funding mechanisms
* Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective investors; lead preparation for fundraising including investor materials, data rooms, diligence workflows, and management presentations
* Lead end‐to‐end partnering discussions with biotech and pharma counterparties, from first contact through confidentiality agreements, scientific exchange, term sheet negotiation, and alliance shaping
* Manage all vendor relationships: CROs, CMOs, academic partners, regulatory consultants
* Lead vendor selection processes, contract negotiation, and ongoing oversight
* Lead the company's regulatory execution and decision‐making, working closely with the board, regulatory consultants, and external experts on IND‐enabling strategy, CTN filing, and FDA pathway planning
* Own the overall development roadmap: timelines, budgets, milestones, success metrics, and critical dependencies — from preclinical studies through IND‐enabling, CTN Phase 1, and US FDA Phase 2 positioning
* Represent Stave Therapeutics externally with authority and credibility across investors, pharma partners, KOLs, regulators, and ecosystem stakeholders
* Establish the operating model, metrics, and governance for the company
About you
* Experience leading or materially contributing to capital raising or financing strategy in biotech, pharma, or another science‐led company
* Minimum 5+ years hands‐on managing vendor relationships (CROs, CMOs, contract manufacturers, service providers)
* Direct experience negotiating and managing complex contracts (scope, budget, timeline, deliverables)
* Track record of negotiating hard on budget, scope, and timeline and ensuring vendor accountability
* Ability to crunch budgets and manage P&L across multiple vendor relationships
* Led or closely integrated across preclinical or early‐stage development programs and can demonstrate sound judgement on study design, sequencing, vendor oversight, CMC, toxicology, and IND preparation
* Experience managing multi‐jurisdictional regulatory relationships (TGA, FDA, EMA, MedSafe, PMDA, or similar) and navigating regulatory strategy for a first‐in‐class asset
* Direct experience negotiating biotech or pharma partnerships, licensing deals, or strategic alliances
* Strongly wired for ownership and follow‐through; you close loops and hold yourself and others accountable
* Self‐assured but not egotistical — you work well with strong founders, technical experts, and a high‐caliber board
