Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team in Adelaide, working on the Public Health Information Development Unit (PHIDU). This is a fixed term role until June 2026, with the possibility of extension. As part of this team, you will provide analysis of data for online publication and presentation in the Social Health Atlas of Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
* Compile, process and analyze data supplied by external agencies using MS Excel.
* Update the data in various atlases and charts, including those for the whole population, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, and more.
* Undertake in-depth, geographically-based analyses of health outcomes and health service use data.
* Contribute to the maintenance of the PHIDU website.
* Perform special projects as required.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role in a health-related field.
* Knowledge of population and public health, including health inequalities affecting disadvantaged groups.
* Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills.
* Demonstrated high-level proficiency in data manipulation skills.
* Advanced MS Excel skills.
* Tertiary qualifications in Health Sciences, Mathematics (statistics), or similar.
* Capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a small team.
