About the role
Support infection prevention and control across WCHN by assisting with surveillance, outbreak response, education, audits and procedure development.
Work with the IPC Advanced Nurse Consultant and clinical teams to promote safe, high-quality patient care.
Key duties of the role
Apply infection control standards, assess risk, and support safe care across clinical areas
Monitor HAI data, conduct audits, and assist with outbreak investigations and follow-up
Deliver infection control education and support learning for staff and students
Contribute to quality improvement by reviewing practice, updating procedures, and supporting compliance with Standard 3
Act as an infection control resource, liaise with teams, and help implement practice change across WCHN
Skills and Experience
Registered Nurse/Midwife with current AHPRA registration and 3+ years post-registration experience
Proven competence in infection control or relevant clinical practice
Strong communication, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to lead and support junior staff and contribute to procedure development
Sound knowledge of legislation, standards, and quality improvement in healthcare
