**Officer - Financial Markets & Treasury**
**How will I Help?**
As the Officer for Foreign Exchange & Commodity markets, you will be joining the Financial Markets & Treasury Operations Business Unit within WIB Operations. This group forms part of Institutional Banking Services under Group Operations and supports the Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) and we pride ourselves on being a business unit that is equipped to meet the ever-changing needs of the market, while remaining committed to our different customer, stakeholders, and products.
As the Officer your team will provide trade confirmation matching and reconciliations for foreign exchange and commodity products. You will have a key focus on creating and maintaining a business unit that is focused on increasing customer satisfaction, developing a high performing and skilled workforce and cost-efficient business practices.

Some of your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Daily operational processing ensuring that all payment, confirmation, reconciliation, and investigation obligations have been met and that customer service levels are maintained at the highest level
- Central Operational contact for foreign exchange markets or trade related queries
- Ensure accurate checklist completion and escalation of any items that are not actioned daily
- Work closely with Shift Peers to ensure effective physical daily handover of work between Shifts 1 (Sydney), 2 (London) and 3 (NY) to support the seamless transition between shifts and the effective running of the 24-hour global operation
- Embrace change initiatives and work to implement them as seamlessly as possible
- Identify opportunities for system and process enhancements and communicate to your Supervisor/Manager for review and possible implementation.
- Proactively partner with Trading, Sales Desks and Relationship Managers to achieve the best outcomes for our customers.
**What do I need?**
You will have a minimum 2 years’ industry experience with ideally specific product knowledge of foreign exchange and commodity transactions. Systems knowledge of Calypso and Swift are advantageous. You will have excellent focus on attention to detail with the capability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment and you will be energetic, motivated, and confident. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with a positive and enthusiastic approach to acquiring product and system knowledge.
