Clinical Nurse Specialist–Haematology (McGrath Cancer Care Nurse)

This is for a 3-yearFixed Term Part Time appointment at 38 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/orpermanency.

An opportunity existsfor a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Cancer Services team in Geraldton in the Midwest.

To be successful, you will have...

* A minimum of 5 years full time equivalent post registrationexperience as a registered nurse with at least 3 years recentfull time equivalent experience in caring for people with bloodcancers.
* Advanced clinical and professional knowledge and extensiveexperience and leadership in area of specialty, with theability to assess, plan, initiate and manage complex cases at an advanced level.
* Extensive knowledge and application of safety and qualityimprovement and research principles to support evidenced basedpractice.
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication (written/oral) skills.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Demonstrated digital capability across clinical systems andplatforms that contribute to cancer contract activities, data collection and reporting.
* Eligible for / or in possession of a current C or C-A Classdrivers licence or other specialised licence class.
Position Profile

The Clinical Nurse Specialist – Haematology (McGrath Cancer CareNurse) position is funded through a partnership with the McGrathFoundation. This position provides leadership that facilitates theongoing development of clinical practice that reflects the McGrathModel of Care. The McGrath Cancer Care Nurse actively participatesin the multidisciplinary team to contribute to treatment planning,ensures specific data required by the Foundation is added to therelevant McGrath Foundation controlled database on a regular andtimely basis and attends and actively participates in McGrathFoundation education and information sharing events.

Cancer specific training can be provided to suitable applicants as per below for those applicants who do not possess a post graduatequalification in Cancer Nursing. The role offers expert haematology nursing knowledge and coordinates care across the organization toensure integrated, best practice service delivery.
