Reporting to the Senior Process Engineer and working closely with the production team, the Process Engineer - Chemicals will be responsible for the maximization of production quality, uptime, and speed through chemical engineering processes.
Your key objectives for this role will be to ensure a high-quality paper product and minimise chemical downtime in our paper mill, located in Reservoir, VIC.
What you'll do
Daily monitoring and management of chemicals and chemical levels including inventory of consumables and equipment in the mill
Manage chemical budgets and related KPIs including raising purchase orders when required
Provide technical assistance and optimise dosing systems to achieve performance and efficiency
Work closely with production to source chemicals and provide support during regular maintenance and major shutdowns?
including when rostered on-call
Ensure compliance with safe chemical usage, storage and handling as per applicable standards (including Australian standard and site standards)
Ensuring compliance with procedures and identifying and addressing hazards to ensure safe mill operations.
What You Will Bring
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or science equivalent
1-2 years post-graduate experience OR a recent graduate with internship experience in a FMCG manufacturing, paper & pulp mill, heavy industrial or oil and gas environment (preferred)
Ability to optimise chemical usage and cost control
Experience testing and process monitoring chemical system in a manufacturing setting
Ability to analyse, troubleshoot and problem solve chemical systems
High level communication skills and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
Collaborative, flexible and team focused with a continuous improvement mindset
Highly organised and strong planning skills.
