Overview
An Aboriginal medical service in Newman is looking for a full-time Senior Medical Officer to join their team providing holistic primary health care to the individuals and families within the remote communities of Jigalong, Parnngurr, Punma and Kunawarritji.
This role will require regular travel on a FIFO basis from Perth to Newman and the surrounding communities. Newman is located 1,179kms from Perth with a population of around 7,238. The town is known for iron ore, great tasting food and diverse attractions.
The Practice
The practice is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of the Martu people and all Aboriginal people living within the East Pilbara region of Western Australia through the delivery of community-based, comprehensive primary healthcare services. Focusing on supporting healthier communities by promoting wellbeing, reducing illness, and providing culturally appropriate care tailored to the needs of each individual.

Working collaboratively with the Clinical Lead and Management team, the successful applicant will provide clinical leadership and contribute to the clinical governance framework to support the delivery of culturally appropriate, evidence-based primary healthcare across all service delivery areas within the Aboriginal medical service.
The Senior Medical Officer has direct management responsibility for general practitioners and visiting specialists across the practice and is also responsible for ensuring continuous quality improvement and innovation in the delivery of comprehensive primary health services, including (but not limited to) monitoring, supervision, feedback and innovation.
The Requirements
* FRACGP/FACRRM
* Holds a current CPR certificate
* Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality primary health care in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Service.
* Federal police clearance
* WA working with children's check
* 'C' drivers license
The Package
* Base salary of $310,000 - $355,000 per annum (excluding superannuation)
* 5 weeks annual leave plus 17.5% leave loading
* 11% superannuation
