About The Role
This is an Aboriginal Identified position authorised under S14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW) and/or S33B of the Discrimination Act 1991 (ACT). It is a fixed term temporary role up until 30 June 2027 (38hpw) based in Bega with a possibility of extension due to funding. The position will work as part of the Aboriginal Health Team to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The primary responsibility is to support the delivery of health services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through health screening, integrated care and chronic disease management and health promotion.

Skills & Experience
* Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be an active member within the local Aboriginal communities
* Certificate III or IV in Aboriginal Health Work or other health‐related discipline or willingness to work towards it
* Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people and their health
* Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and communicate sensitively with Aboriginal people to address their health needs
* Experience in developing and maintaining effective partnerships with Aboriginal organisations and communities
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including liaison, negotiation and advocacy skills, and the ability to provide written responses and reports
