We are seeking an experienced AI Test Lead with a strong focus on AI-assisted testing, automation, and quality engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience leading testing within complex ICT environments and a keen interest in applying AI-driven testing methods, intelligent automation, and modern quality practices.
Experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, cloud testing, and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, and Zephyr will be highly regarded. Relevant ISTQB certifications and exposure to AI testing frameworks are advantageous.
Key responsibilities
* Develop and deliver comprehensive test strategies, approaches, and test plans.
* Establish and govern testing standards, metrics, reporting frameworks, and quality processes.
* Define testing scope, resource requirements, schedules, environments, dependencies, and risks.
* Produce and maintain key testing artefacts, including test strategies, test plans, traceability matrices, and test data requirements.
* Lead and coordinate system, integration, regression, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing activities.
* Monitor test execution progress and ensure testing milestones are achieved within agreed timelines.
* Approve release readiness and provide recommendations for production deployment.
* Manage defect triage, prioritisation, root cause analysis, and resolution activities.
* Identify, assess, and manage quality risks throughout the project lifecycle.
* Provide clear reporting on testing progress, quality metrics, defect trends, and residual risks.
* Lead, mentor, and coach test analysts and vendor resources.
* Manage vendor testing services and ensure delivery against agreed quality standards.
* Define and promote automation strategies, quality engineering practices, and CI/CD quality gates.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across testing frameworks, processes, and tooling.
* Research and adopt emerging testing practices, including AI-assisted testing, cloud testing, and automation optimisation.
Highly desirable criteria
* ISTQB Advanced Test Manager (CTAL-TM) certification or equivalent.
* ISTQB AI Testing (CT-AI) certification or equivalent.
* Strong experience managing stakeholders, vendors, and third-party delivery partners.
* Experience leading testing activities within large-scale and complex ICT environments.
* Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
* Experience working with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
* Experience with cloud platforms and modern testing approaches within distributed environments.
* Understanding of AI-driven testing methods and quality engineering practices.
* Experience with Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.
* Experience using Jira, Confluence, Zephyr, or equivalent test management platforms.
* Knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
* Exposure to monitoring, observability, and performance testing tools.
* Experience contributing to enterprise-wide testing governance and capability uplift initiatives.
Skills and experience
* Bachelor's degree or diploma qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
* ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certification or equivalent.
* Proven experience leading software testing and quality assurance activities in complex ICT environments.
* Strong understanding of risk-based and requirements-based testing methodologies.
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong experience in defect management, quality assurance governance, and release readiness assessments.
* Ability to influence outcomes and build productive working relationships across technical and business teams.
* Experience leading multidisciplinary testing teams and vendor resources.
