Role Overview

As a Print Engineer, you will support the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise print services within secure and regulated environments. You will work as part of a broader EUC and Modern Workplace delivery team, assisting with secure follow‐me printing, VDI integrated printing, and driver and package deployment using Microsoft and third‐party print solutions.

Key Responsibilities
* Implement and support enterprise print services across secure and regulated environments.
* Assist with deployment and operation of secure follow‐me / pull print solutions, including user authentication and secure job release.
* Support print integration with VDI environments, such as private cloud or on‐prem VDI platforms.
* Package, deploy, and test print drivers and print queues, including Universal Print drivers, vendor‐specific and vendor‐neutral drivers, and deployment via MECM or equivalent tools.
* Support multi‐vendor print environments, working with different printer manufacturers and print management platforms.
* Assist with configuration and support of Microsoft and/or third‐party print solutions, such as Microsoft Universal Print and enterprise print management platforms (e.g., Pharos, PaperCut, Equitrac, or equivalents).
* Execute testing and validation of print services, including regression testing after driver or platform changes.
* Support incident resolution and service requests related to print services.
* Maintain technical documentation, build guides, and operational procedures.
* Work under the guidance of senior engineers or print service leads, escalating issues when required.
Required Experience and Skills
* 3–5+ years' experience in EUC, desktop, or workplace engineering roles, with exposure to enterprise print services.
* Practical experience with Windows10/11 print drivers, queues, and print server concepts.
* Device and application deployment using Intune and/or MECM.
* Basic understanding of secure printing concepts, such as authentication‐based release and print auditing.
* Exposure to VDI environments and how printing operates in virtual desktops.
* Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to follow defined standards and processes in regulated environments.
* Good communication skills and willingness to learn from senior engineers.
Additional Requirements
* Australian citizen (required by project and client).
* Ability to work onsite five days a week in a secure location in Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, or Melbourne.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
* Basic PowerShell skills for validation or deployment support.
* Familiarity with endpoint security controls and compliance concepts.
* Relevant Microsoft certifications (or working towards), such as MD102.
* Degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, information system management, or a related field.
* Experience delivering in government, defence, or regulated environments (security clearance highly regarded).
* Experience interfacing with clients, assessing goals and objectives, and translating ideas into strategic and practical solution recommendations.
* Aptitude for critical and analytical thinking and willingness to consider out‐of‐the‐box solutions.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills with both technical and non‐technical stakeholders.
