ABOUT US
Prince Design is a boutique interior design studio specialising in residential interiors, selections and styling. We work closely with clients to create thoughtful, highly personalised spaces with a strong focus on both functionality and aesthetics.
We are a small, supportive and collaborative team looking for an experienced Interior Designer / Prestart Consultant to join us full-time in our Perth studio.
This role is ideal for someone who studied Interior Design and has spent the last few years in a builder prestart or selections role — but is now looking for more creativity, variety and involvement in the full design process.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a varied, hands‐on role combining client prestart meetings, interior design support and day‐to‐day studio coordination.
You will work closely with our senior designers while also managing your own client prestart appointments and helping keep projects, samples and studio operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities will include:
* Running client prestart and selections meetings independently
* Guiding clients through interior and finish selections
* Assisting senior designers with residential interior design projects
* Preparing client presentations, schedules and selections documentation
* Coordinating samples, supplier orders and studio materials
* Managing day‐to‐day studio organisation and administration
* Liaising with suppliers, builders and clients
* Assisting with furniture, styling and installation preparation
* Supporting project documentation and design development
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and genuinely passionate about interiors.
You will ideally have:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a prestart, selections or residential interior design role
* Confidence running client prestart meetings independently
* Interior Design qualification
* Experience using SketchUp and AutoCAD
* Strong understanding of residential construction and selections processes
* Excellent organisation and communication skills
* High attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
* A positive, team‐oriented attitude
* Experience in furniture, styling or residential decorating is highly regarded, but not essential.
WHY JOIN PRINCE DESIGN
* Small, supportive and creative team environment
* Opportunity to grow beyond a traditional builder prestart role
* Greater involvement in the full design process
* Varied and hands‐on work across interiors, selections and styling
* Creative autonomy and career development opportunities
* Beautiful studio environment and collaborative culture
If you're passionate about interiors and ready to take the next step beyond a standard prestart role, we'd love to hear from you.
Please submit your CV, portfolio and a short cover letter outlining your experience and why this role interests you.
