Join an AFR Top 20 firm with a strong global platform and a particularly dominant presence in the European market. This firm is known for valuing high performers and offering clear progression pathways for those aspiring to be future leaders. With a genuine focus on learning and development, they invest heavily in technical training and professional growth, ensuring their staff continue to expand their expertise and career opportunities.
The Role
As a Senior Accountant within the Business Services and Tax Advisory division, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients while providing hands-on support across compliance, tax, and advisory. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing your own client portfolio and acting as a key contact on tax and business advisory matters
- Preparing and reviewing BAS, FBT returns, financial statements, and income tax returns for a range of structures
- Liaising directly with the ATO and other regulatory bodies on client matters
- Assisting with the preparation of tailored advice on tax and business issues
- Coordinating, reviewing, and providing feedback on work prepared by junior staff and offshore teams
- Leading and mentoring junior accountants, including delivering internal training and coaching sessions
- Contributing to client updates, technical alerts, and internal knowledge sharing
- Supporting Partners and Managers with a range of ad hoc advisory projects
What We’re Looking For
To be considered, you must have:
- Current or prior Australian public practice accounting experience
- Proven Australian tax experience across compliance and advisory (essential)
- A relevant degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business
- CA/CPA qualification (completed)
- 3–4+ years’ experience in business services, tax, or advisory
- Experience with Xero, MYOB, APS or similar accounting systems
- Solid technical knowledge, combined with excellent communication skills and a genuine ability to mentor junior staff
Preferred background:
This role will suit someone with Big 4 or large mid-tier experience seeking a stronger salary package and a new environment, or those from similar-sized firms looking for a progressive change of scene with clear career development.
