The role of the Property Services team is to deliver comprehensive property services to the regions and oversee the delivery of maintenance services such as scoping, compliance inspections and work order management.
The purpose of this role is to implement sound practices to improve and maintain the waste management across the Inner West and Inner-City Councils.
**What you’ll do**
As an Asset Performance Officer in the Waste Management team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing sound practices to improve and maintain the waste management across the Inner West and Inner-City Councils and provide strong responses to pest / vermin management.
Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks, including the timely, accurate, and effective scoping of works, adhering closely to the scoping program. You'll be tasked with developing and implementing planned maintenance programs based on Property Assessment Survey (PAS) data and local knowledge, ensuring the seamless delivery of works while promptly addressing any issues that may arise.
As an Asset Performance Officer specialising in Waste Management, your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient and effective management of waste across LAHC-managed properties. This entails delivering timely and accurate scoping of works, adhering closely to the established scoping program.
You will be tasked with developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive waste management program, overseeing its execution to ensure optimal outcomes. It will be crucial to ensure that all works are delivered appropriately, and you will develop action plans to address any issues that may arise during the process.
Compliance is paramount in your role, necessitating adherence to Australian Building Codes, Housing Portfolio standards, policies, and contract requirements when assigning work to contractors. Timely and accurate inspections according to program standards will be conducted, with meticulous records maintained to track inspections and required actions.
Building and nurturing positive relationships with contractors will be essential to facilitate effective inspection and maintenance programs. In collaboration with contractors, you'll identify and resolve compliance issues, issuing necessary notices when required to ensure adherence to regulations.
Furthermore, you'll play a pivotal role in reporting emerging issues to management and providing recommendations to continuously improve asset program delivery and minimise impacts on waste management.
Overall, your role is integral to ensuring the sustainability and efficiency of waste management practices within Housing Portfolio-managed properties. Ultimately, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible impact in NSW social housing.
**What we’re looking for**
- Experience in general waste management from either local government or commercial waste management industry.
- Understanding of the Australian Building Codes, Australian Standards, Government or commercial probity and contracting standards.
- Relevant qualification and/or sound construction building maintenance and/or building construction experience/exposure, together with field inspection experience and measurement of performance against standards.
- Experience and Knowledge of residential property maintenance
- Scoping experience - desirable
- Current driver’s license.
