Your role within the team
As the Senior National Account Manager – Woolworths, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our Woolworths business strategy.
Working closely with the National Sales Manager – Woolworths & CDC, you will partner with Woolworths buying teams to deliver executional, financial, and operational targets that drive mutual growth.
You are a commercially astute account leader with proven success in managing large grocery accounts.
You thrive on building strong customer partnerships, navigating complex negotiations, and translating insights into strategies that deliver sustainable results.
With your deep understanding of the FMCG landscape and Woolworths' ways of working, you are motivated to create long-term value for both the customer and the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Act as the key business management contact for Woolworths buying teams across VMS, fostering strong and collaborative partnerships.
Co-develop and lead the delivery of the Joint Business Plan with Woolworths, ensuring alignment to category growth drivers and long-term commercial objectives.
Optimise trade spend effectiveness by evaluating investment strategies and recommending improvements to maximise ROI.
Collaborate closely with internal teams across marketing, innovation, finance, and operations to ensure seamless execution of customer initiatives and exceptional account servicing.
Partner with supply chain teams on forecasting, demand planning, and promotional run rates to maintain strong on-shelf availability.
Leverage data and insights to analyse sales performance, stock availability, and promotional outcomes, driving continuous improvement.
Guide and align merchandising partners on call cycles, new store openings, and in-store execution of trade promotions.
Support the delivery of new product development (NPD) initiatives and activations in partnership with marketing and shopper teams.
Develop compelling customer and internal presentations that influence decision-making and build alignment across stakeholders.

To make sure we're setting new starters up for success, we ask that you meet a few criteria relevant to the role to be considered for this opportunity:
Proven track record in managing major national retail accounts, with demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic account plans within the grocery channel.
Strong commercial acumen, with responsibility for delivering P&L targets, managing trade investment, and driving profitable growth.
Demonstrated success in leading complex customer negotiations while safeguarding brand equity and long-term partnerships.
Direct experience managing Woolworths or Coles accounts, with a clear understanding of their operating models, processes, and requirements.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Commerce, Business, or related discipline.
Deep understanding of the Australian grocery retail business model, with specific knowledge of Woolworths' ways of working, processes, and systems.
Strong knowledge of category and shopper data platforms (e.g. IRI, Nielsen, Quantium) and advanced skills in extracting insights to inform strategy.
Advanced Excel and strong data analysis capability, with a track record of translating insights into actionable customer and category growth strategies.
Financial and commercial literacy, including P&L management, forecasting, and trade spend optimisation.
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence both internal stakeholders and customer partners.
Demonstrated experience in project and campaign management, including engaging subject matter experts (SMEs) to deliver tailored solutions.
Practical knowledge of internal administration processes, including PR/PO systems and budget management.
Accountability and responsiveness in delivering high-quality customer service and support.
