About the Team
The Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Liver Transplant (GHLT) at Queensland Children's Hospital, Brisbane provides statewide and specialist gastroenterology, hepatology and liver transplant services to Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. This centre fosters a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and research with special expertise in Neurogastroenterology/Motility, Inflammatory Bowel Disease/GI Mucosal Immunology, Hepatology/Liver Transplantation, Nutrition/Nutritional Rehabilitation and diagnostic/therapeutic paediatric endoscopy. Trainees will be exposed to the full range of complex gastroenterological problems including complex nutritional requirements and patients on Home Parenteral Nutrition, and will perform endoscopies at up to six sessions per week in addition to emergency procedures.
About the Role
There are four Paediatric Registrar positions (Paediatric Advanced Trainee Fellows). All positions have the core training RACP‐Paediatric Gastroenterology and will be appointed at 1FTE, integrated into the unit, sharing on‐call (1 in 4) and clinical duties across all specialist areas. Advanced Trainee Fellows will deliver medical services, demonstrate commitment to evidence‐based practice, research and quality improvement, and assist in the professional development of junior medical staff and allied health students. Three full‐time 12‐month contracts are available with a start date of 1February2027 to 6February2028.
Responsibilities
* Deliver medical services through participation in clinical duties at fellow level in accordance with the policies, practices and values of the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
* Demonstrate commitment to evidence‐based practice, research and quality improvement activities, including undertaking clinical audits and clinical risk management activities.
* Assist in the professional development of junior medical staff and the training of medical and allied health students.
