General Manager QLD – Concrete Business Unit
Reporting to the national Executive General Manager of our Concrete business, this role has overall responsibility for the safety, values-based leadership, growth and profitability of the QLD Concrete business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the implementation of a culture of zero harm across the business.
* Demonstrate visible felt leadership through regular involvement in site safety activities, discussions, and high-level incident reviews.
* Demonstrate effective leadership, role model the Holcim values, and delegate tasks appropriately.
* Develop succession plans and build bench strength across core functions and critical roles.
* Assist in developing and delivering on the industrial relations plans for Queensland.
* Achieve revenue and profit targets and grow/maintain profitable market share in line with budget objectives.
* Develop and implement rigorous and measurable commercial plans that create maximum value in market and customer segments.
* Identify and prioritise market and customer growth opportunities.
* Build competitive advantage within product and service portfolios and market and customer segments.
* Build and maintain long-term customer and supplier relationships.
* Prepare, implement, and cascade mid-term Business Plans focusing on sustainable profitable growth.
* Maintain a strong customer focus throughout the business.
* Ensure Business Improvement Plans are developed and executed.
* Continue improvements by initiating benchmarking, cost reduction, and revenue increase activities.
* Ensure assets are maintained to be reliable and effective.
* Ensure challenging EBITDA, RONOA, and Free Operating Cash Flows are supported by realistic budgets.
* Allocate capital and resources to achieve the best RONOA and overall Free Operating Cash Flow result.
* Prepare recommendations for acquisitions, divestments, and major CAPEX.
* Support the development of company and business unit policy and strategic decisions.
* Contribute to planning processes and specific projects.
* Ensure national leadership peers are aware of decisions taken within the Queensland concrete business which may impact their businesses or functions.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate proficiency in safety, including developing and executing safety strategies, allocating resources, managing risk, and handling incidents. Minimum ten years of leadership experience in the concrete/building materials industry, underpinned by a degree and/or masters qualification in a business related discipline, is expected. You should have a strong understanding of the building materials/concrete industry within the Australian market, a track record of complete P&L management, proven senior-level leadership of cross-functional teams, excellent organizational and project management skills, and the ability to execute long-term plans while addressing immediate issues in a dynamic and complex environment.
