Risk and Compliance Manager - SA - Thebarton
About the role:
Guidera O'Connor is looking for a creative applicant who can lead us in meeting our compliance obligations and manage our business and project delivery risks. The role requires an understanding of the technical and statutory environment in which we operate as a business and a familiarity of how practical outcomes are achieved through project delivery. If you are someone with an analytical focus who operates well in a structured and regulated environment and has the creative acumen to work across a variety of stakeholders to achieve pragmatic solutions this role may appeal to you. Equally it may be suited to someone with a background in Project Controls, Logistical Planning or Project Delivery.
The successful candidate will conduct:
* Develop, implement and maintain the organisations overarching risk management framework that encompasses project, portfolio and enterprise risk, ensuring visibility, flow through, and reporting of risk across the organisation.
* Support the executive team, senior managers and projects to Identify, assess, document and monitor strategic, operational, project, financial and compliance risks.
* Maintain the organisational risk register and ensure regular review and reporting.
* Facilitate risk workshops and risk assessments with senior leaders and operational teams.
* Monitor emerging risks and provide timely advice to all senior stakeholders.
* Monitor and report upon the effectiveness of risk mitigation plans.
Compliance & Governance
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, industry standards and internal policies, and assign responsibilities to functional managers as necessary
* Design and maintain compliance frameworks, policies and procedures.
* Oversee compliance monitoring, testing and reporting activities.
* Act as a key liaison with regulators, auditors and external stakeholders as required.
* Support internal and external audits and oversee remediation of findings.
Policy & Framework Management
* Develop, review and update organisational policies, procedures and controls.
* Ensure policies are fit for purpose, current and effectively communicated.
* Promote consistent application of risk and compliance requirements across the organisation
Advisory & Leadership
* Provide expert advice to executives, managers and the Board (or committees) on risk and compliance matters.
* Prepare high-quality reports, dashboards and recommendations for senior leadership and governance forums.
* Support strategic decision making by providing risk based insights.
About you:
Your skills and experience will include:
* Tertiary qualification in Risk Management, Law, Business, Finance, Governance or a related discipline desirable.
* Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks (ISO 31000)
* Sound understanding of regulatory and governance requirements relevant to the organisation.
* Proven ability to influence, advise and challenge senior stakeholders.
* Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
