Financial Counsellor – Financial Resilience & Wellbeing Service
Location: Mackay • Term: Permanent, Full Time (76 hours per fortnight) • Remuneration: $51 per hour + Super + NFP Salary Packaging
Responsibilities
* Assess the financial situation of individuals and families experiencing difficulties.
* Provide information on government assistance and negotiate repayment terms with creditors.
* Assist clients to access community resources as required.
* Empower clients to manage their own finances and understand their rights and responsibilities.
* Advocate on behalf of clients when necessary, encouraging independence and self‐sufficiency.
* Engage proactively with community services and reach hard‐to‐access individuals to ensure inclusive access.
* Contribute to community education initiatives that raise awareness of financial wellbeing issues.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Diploma in Financial Counselling (essential).
* Completed or working toward a Problem Gambling Skill Set CHCSS00111 course.
* Demonstrated empathy, professionalism, and a non‐judgmental approach in all interactions.
* Experience building collaborative networks with health, mental‐health, and community support providers (highly regarded).
* Eligibility for membership with Financial Counselling Queensland (FCQ).
* Current driver's licence.
* Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
