RCH has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years since it was founded in 1870. A full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services are provided, including tertiary and quaternary care for the most critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states around Australia and overseas. About The Role
This is a Permanent, Part-Time EFT/30.4 hours per fortnight (Admin Grade 6) within the Mental Health Department. You will work with the RCH Authorised Psychiatrist and staff within RCH Mental Health and across the RCH to monitor compliance with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 across all wards, departments and clinics. You will assist with reporting to the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist and liaising with the Mental Health Tribunal, as well as engaging with consumers, families, staff and stakeholders around policies and procedures to ensure legislative compliance. Classification for this position ranges AO61 – AO65 (FTE base salary $43,366 – $47,821) per annum, plus superannuation.
What You'll Achieve
* Provide advice, guidance and support and ensure compliance with policy and procedures
* Support teams to meet statutory timeframes under the Act, including reporting and monitoring of restrictive interventions
* Develop and implement policies and procedures as required
* Initiate processes to reduce the use of restrictive interventions in the wider RCH outside of Banksia Ward
* Ensure timely and relevant reporting to internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies
Your Skills And Experience
* Extensive experience in Mental Health
* Proven leadership experience in a team environment and ability to work well as a senior team member
* Experience and understanding of working within Health and with the administrative and Mental Health Tribunal aspects of the MHWA 2022

Mental health services in Victoria are provided under the authority of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 (MHWA 2022), with RCH as a designated service provider. A focus of the MHWA 2002 is reducing restrictive practices, and designated services are required to monitor and report on such practices in a strictly prescribed manner.
