Support Worker – Casual (Bayside / Kingston areas)

* Develop and maintain staff rosters, ensuring optimal coverage aligned with client needs
* Handle rostering adjustments, including shift swaps, absence coverage, and last-minute changes
* Liaise with team leaders and support workers to coordinate staffing based on availability and client requirements
* May be required to assist with intake phone calls and collaborate with the intake team to develop or adjust support plans, leveraging in-depth knowledge of rosters.
* Ensure compliance with organisational policies, industry standards (NDIS), and employment regulations
* Provide training to new staff on rostering systems, procedures, and expectations
* Collaborate with the recruitment team for onboarding and the payroll team for accurate timesheet processing
* Develop contingency plans for emergency roster changes and ensure continuity of services

Skills & Qualifications

* Cert III or IV in Business Administration or relevant field (highly desirable)
* Experience in administrative roles with a focus on rostering and scheduling (essential)
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage competing demands
* Proficiency in rostering software and IT systems, with a willingness to learn new technologies
* Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
* Understanding of the disability sector and relevant regulations (NDIS) (essential)
* Experience in customer service roles working with diverse populations (essential)

* National Police Check
* Working with Children Check
* Legal working rights in Australia

Key Responsibilities

* Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Support clients with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and meal preparation in their private residences.
* Accompany clients to medical appointments, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy support and social outings.
* Monitor client health and report changes.
* Provide companionship and encourage social engagement.
* Maintain accurate records of client interactions and care provided.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
* Maintain a safe environment for clients.

Mandatory Requirements

* Fluent in English as a first language
* Aged 30 years or older
* Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with neurological conditions such as Stroke (Cerebrovascular Accident) and Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
* Certificate IV or higher in Disability, Aged Care, or a related field (essential).
* National Police Check (Issued Within the Last 90 Days)
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
* Current First Aid and CPR certification.
* Working with Children Check.
* Current and valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
* Manual Handling, Medication Administration and Infection Control Training (or willingness to obtain).
* Full legal working rights in Australia.
