About the Role
* This position involves interpreting and analyzing ice core gas records to enhance our understanding of climate change.
* The successful candidate will be part of a research team focused on Antarctica's influence on climate and sea level.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the interpretation of gas records from the Million Year Ice Core project.
* Develop and drive independent research ideas using newly produced ice core data.
* Undertake high-quality research, publish findings, and contribute to the supervision of research higher degree students.
* Support the MYIC project by participating in fieldwork, ice core processing, or laboratory assistance.
Requirements
* A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. geochemistry, atmospheric chemistry, earth science).
* Experience in quantitative laboratory analytical techniques, interpretation of ice core gas records, or relevant modeling experience.
* A good record of, and continuing commitment to, research that has achieved national recognition and made worthwhile contributions.
