The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing electrical components into devices. They will also help design and manufacture electrical products of all shapes and sizes. They should be able to make quality assurance checks in order to keep the product standard high.
Core Skill Requirements:
* Previous experience in electrical protection system design and engineering.
* Functional knowledge of power transmission substation secondary design
* Technical report writing
* Skills and experience with electrical design software (PowerFactory, CDEGS, CYMCAP) will be seen as highly preferable.
* Skills and experience with substation test tools (CMC356, CPC100, CT Analyser) are highly preferable.
* Previous experience in configuration and commissioning with more than one series of protection relays from ABB/ Hitachi (Relion series), Siemens (DIGSI 5), SEL and GE is required.
Responsibilities
* Evaluate electrical products and systems by designing testing methods
* Test finished products and system capabilities
* Keep necessary equipment operational
* Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results
* Undertake design calculations and documentation for projects including the provision of expertise in the areas of earthing design, LV systems, DC systems, lightning design, lightning design, cable design, insulation coordination and other electrical engineering tasks.
* Provide inputs/documentation to assist with electrical engineering, preliminary/ concept designs and bill of quantities.
* Perform functional testing of substations, switchgear and apparatus
* Perform detail design and configuration of protection relays (from Hitachi, SEL, Siemens, GE).
* Bench testing and FAT activities
Qualifications
* Full and unrestricted working rights in Australia.
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Strong problem solving, technical, math and science skills
* Strong written and verbal communication
