Overview
The Allied Health Professional will be part of the out of home care (OOHC) Program and will have a passion for providing a person-centred approach, trauma informed therapy, and working within a multidisciplinary team environment, providing high level clinical care to children and young people who live in out of home care. We are seeking passionate and dedicated allied health professionals with experience in complex case management, assessment and trauma informed therapies. Knowledge or experience in mental health services and out of home care would be ideal.

Responsibilities
* Be part of a dynamic and well-supported team committed to delivering high-quality, multisystemic mental health services to children and young people in out of home care (OOHC).
* Under the supervision of the senior allied health staff, engage and work with children and young people and their significant others to provide a responsive community-based mental health service.
* Collaborate with care teams – including Child Safety Services, NGOs, schools, psychiatrists, GPs, and other agencies – to optimise service effectiveness, efficiency, and continuity of care.
* Work with an amazing and diverse group of clinicians as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
* Participate in supervision, peer support and ongoing professional learning opportunities.
You will need
* Contemporary knowledge and experience of child and youth mental health service care principles including statutory requirements, assessment, risk assessment, safety planning and the ability to implement this in the practice setting.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the theoretical and practical application of a range of therapeutic interventions relevant to Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS), with the ability to acquire further expertise into the future.
* Interpersonal skills with the ability to consult, liaise, negotiate, provide training and work co-operatively within a multi-disciplinary team and the broader service system.
Eligibility
* Satisfactory completion of an appropriate allied health professional course of study at a recognised tertiary institution and registered with the relevant Board or, in the case of unregulated professions, eligible for membership of the relevant professional association.
* Current Working with Children Registration.
Desirable
* Post graduate experience in an area relevant to the role.
* Postgraduate qualification or working towards a postgraduate qualification relevant to the role.
Details of appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours notwithstanding to be negotiated with the successful applicant. This selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies for a period of twelve months from publication.
Salary and benefits
Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 per annum. Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.
