Zero hours quinquennial VMO
Hunter New England Local Health District invites applications from eligible candidates to join the newly established Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) service. We are looking for candidates living and working in the New England (Tamworth, Armidale, Moree) and Lower Mid North Coast (Forster, Taree) regions. The VMO positions will involve travel across rural and regional HNELHD to support individuals seeking VAD. Applicants should have completed or be prepared to undertake training to perform roles as a coordinating, consulting, and administering practitioner as outlined in the NSW Voluntary Assisted Dying Act.
Essential Requirements
* A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and fellowship
* Demonstrated current experience in complex services impacting multiple departments and stakeholders
* High-level skills in clinical care, supervision, mentoring, and teaching
* Current driver’s license
Key Accountabilities
* Providing high-quality, evidence-based, patient-focused management and care to patients, families, and carers requesting or undertaking Voluntary Assisted Dying
* Acting as a Coordinating, Consulting, and Administering practitioner as outlined in the NSW Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2022, with regular travel within HNELHD to provide services
* Contributing to effective clinical management throughout the patient's care journey
