Job Summary
Pharmacy Technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory and patient records. They fill medication orders and substitute generic or alternate brand drugs based on approved practices, perform computer order entry for verification, prepare, store, and maintain inventory, handle controlled substances, and utilize several information systems. They interact with service providers, patients, and family members while documenting call activity. When needed, technicians deliver medications to patients at their bedside prior to discharge. Work location may vary to any Upstate pharmacy location within Onondaga County based on operational need.
Minimum Qualifications
* National Pharmacy Technician Certification plus 6 months of pharmacy technician experience.
* Associate's Degree OR NYS licensed/registered LPN OR 1 year of pharmacy technician experience (or successful completion of a military or other accredited pharmacy technician training program). Will be required to receive the National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 18 months of hire.
* Candidates who are not certified will be on a temporary appointment until certification is received.

Work Days:
* M-F 8:30 am‐8:30 pm
* Sat/Sun 9:30 am‐6:30 pm
* Rotating shifts/rotating weekends
