Job Overview
Senior Manager, Data Science reporting to the General Manager, Data Science and Delivery. The role involves designing and delivering advanced analytics solutions using AI, machine learning, optimisation solvers, and data mining techniques.
In this role you will partner closely with business stakeholders to define complex problems, develop testable hypotheses, and build high‐quality models that are embedded into scalable data products.
As a senior member of the team you will work within a cross‐functional environment to translate insights into impact, mentor and develop junior data scientists, contribute to best practices, elevate team capability, and help shape a strong analytics culture that drives data‐informed decision‐making.
Responsibilities
* Design and deliver advanced analytics solutions using AI, machine learning, optimisation solvers, and data mining techniques.
* Partner with business stakeholders to define complex problems, develop testable hypotheses, and build high‐quality models embedded in scalable data products.
* Work cross‐functionally to translate insights into impact and mentor junior data scientists.
* Contribute to best practices, uplift team capability, and shape a strong analytics culture that drives data‐informed decision‐making.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in a data science‐related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
* Strong machine learning capability and hands‐on experience across data platforms, governance, and AI/ML environments.
* Experience deploying models into production and building data products.
* Strong technical skills in Python or R, SQL, data manipulation libraries, version control, visualisation, and cloud platforms such as AWS.
* Solid business acumen, excellent communication and influencing skills, and strong planning and organisational capability to deliver high‐quality data solutions.
