Technical Sales Representative – Industrial Power Transmission & Mechanical Engineering
Our South Australian family business is seeking a driven technical sales representative to grow our industrial power transmission sales. The successful candidate will provide knowledge on such industrial components as roller chain, sprockets, pulleys, conveyor systems, drives and much more in selling the company's vast range of electrical and mechanical engineering products to customers.
Key responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day sales calls from established customers.
* Identify and secure new business opportunities within manufacturing, mining and heavy industry.
* Provide technical consultation to clients regarding mechanical power transmission systems.
* Translate customer requirements into precise engineering product specifications.
* Manage sales pipelines from initial technical inquiry through to final sale.
Required skills & qualifications
* Technical expertise: Background in power transmission mechanical engineering principles and power transmission components (roller chain, sprockets, pulleys gears, belts, bearings, couplings, drives etc) preferred. Additional advantage would be mechanical engineering training.
* Proven sales track record: Successful technical sales experience of at least two years is preferred. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is committed to improving company sales and working within a small team, with ability to make cold calls and drive sales.
* Problem solving: Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and recommend component solutions.
* Communication: Skilled at explaining data to technical and non-technical customers as well as effective communication with customers.
* Team work: Ability to work within a small team and adapt as needed.
