The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people's homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).

A new opportunity is available for an experienced and dynamic nursing leader to join the Supportive and Palliative Care team in Primary Care and Community Health. The position is based at Nepean Hospital and will require regular travel across the local health district to support service delivery.

Responsibilities:

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of nursing services within the Supportive and Palliative Care stream. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to clients and their families and carers, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, timeliness and clinical excellence across all service environments under the governance stream. In this key leadership position, you will provide professional and operational direction to a geographically dispersed nursing workforce. You will lead the planning, development and evaluation of services, clinical practice and professional standards, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and best practice principles. The role requires a strong ability to build capability within teams, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and deliver measurable outcomes that enhance patient experience and care quality. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary leadership team, the Nurse Manager acts as a trusted authority and advisor, providing expert operational and clinical guidance to support the delivery of integrated, responsive and sustainable supportive and palliative care services across the district. You will influence service innovation, drive consistency in practice, and champion evidence-based approaches to care delivery.

Qualifications:

* Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Relevant tertiary qualification in management and/or extensive post-graduate clinical and management experience in the acute and/or community health care setting.
* Demonstrates leadership skills and the ability to motivate, inspire and organise staff to achieve organisational, service, and professional standards, including the ability to manage conflict and performance issues.
* Demonstrated ability to manage, allocate and evaluate organisational and nursing resources, including finance and human resources.
* Demonstrated ability to manage change and guide others through a successful change process.
* Demonstrated experience in managing key priorities and delivering successful strategies to deliver service outcomes and KPIs within tightly defined resources.
* Experience in community or other palliative care settings, demonstrating commitment to clinical governance and quality improvement.
* Current unrestricted NSW driver licence and willingness to use for work related travel.
