About the Division
Operations and Governance Division
The Operations and Governance Division has a focus on day-to-day support for schools and regions, encompassing student engagement programs and services, school governance and operational issues, client enquiries and contact centre technologies, complaint and complex matters management and improvement processes and advice about school operational policy and school council operations and governance. The division leads and coordinates a range of SRS group functions, including workforce planning and staff recruitment, support for the SRS governance framework, implementation of actions arising from audits, business planning and quality assurance of correspondence and briefings for portfolio ministers and senior executives.
Youth Participation Unit
The Youth Participation Unit designs and implements key reforms and provides support to regions and school communities to support student engagement and participation. The Unit's portfolio includes programs focussed on engagement of young people at risk of contact or in contact with the justice system, provision of outside school hours care for children with disabilities, and engagement of young people from Victorian African heritage and Pasifika communities.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for you as a Project Manager – Youth Participation for a fixed term period until 30 June 2027.
As the Project Manager you will be responsible for:
* Development of a new integrated Youth Justice Education online platform that will capture information about the education engagement of young people at risk of or engaging with the youth justice system to track and monitor progress of key interventions, provide a menu of evidence-based interventions and approaches and report on progress/status of a young person at a point in time.
* Implement and drive governance arrangements to manage risk and ensure this project is completed on time, on budget and to quality standards.
* Work collaboratively within a team of multidisciplinary staff, providing project management leadership, expert advice and guidance to project team members.
Some of your duties will include:
* Driving high quality governance frameworks for projects, provides independent monitoring of project performance, identifying root causes, trends and good practices for improving project outcomes.
* Building and maintaining relationships with senior leadership and stakeholders acting as a trusted advisor.
* Ensuring effective management of stakeholders throughout project delivery, including appropriate consultation on design functionality, facility operation and transition issues.

* Strong project management skills and ability to perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment
* Demonstrated expertise in delivering large scale projects
* Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams, provide internal consultancy to managers and authoritative advice on complex issues
* Strong written communication skills
* Commitment to showing initiative and accountability and being able to own and drive specific pieces of work
* Experience working with and mobilising range of stakeholders and understanding their needs
* Interested in working in a high performing, collaborative team and making a positive contribution to the outcomes of vulnerable children and young people
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant project management qualifications and proficiency in data analysis tools, strong analytical and problem-solving skills are desirable.
* Experience in complex projects that require conducting comprehensive analyses of data to evaluate organisational performance against established outcomes
* High level understanding of Project Management methodology
* Proven ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication and consulting abilities.
