About the Mint
The Royal Australian Mint is a small government agency working within the Commonwealth Government Portfolio of the Treasury. The Mint is a non-corporate Commonwealth Entity and is listed under the Public Governance Performance and Accountability Act **** (PGPA Act). About the Branch
The Sales, Marketing and Innovation Branch is responsible for a variety of functions, which impact Australian citizens, customers, clients, collectors and visitors to the Mint. The Branch encompasses coin and graphic design, product development, sales, and business to business (B2B) program development and relationship management.
The Branch is responsible for delivering a significant commercial program for the organisation, designing and developing numismatic products, driving innovation in product design, generating awareness and engagement and converting this into ongoing relationships with customers.
The Branch is also responsible for custom minting, foreign circulating coins and foreign effigy management. Custom minting includes the design and manufacture of medals and medallions for Australian clients, and exclusive investment and numismatic coin products for international clients. The foreign coin business stream enables the Mint to support regional partners by offering expert advice, design, manufacturing and storage services for their circulating and commemorative coins, as well as effigy brokerage services for commemorative coins. Effigy brokerage generates a revenue stream for these emerging nations that are important regional partners to Australia.
About the Role
The B2B Manager – Currency provides management support and oversight of the Australian circulating coin supply chain, including leading the relationship management between the Mint and Australia's four major banks. The B2B Manager – Currency works with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to optimise forecasting, planning and scheduling, and analyse data to lead enhancements in circulating coin operations.
The B2B Manager – Currency is also responsible for leading foreign circulating and commemorative coin programs, whereby the Mint undertakes coin design and manufacture for foreign Central Banks, including monitoring and managing performance against contracts.
Additionally, the role contributes to the commercial activities of the Mint by proactively seeking new partnership opportunities with foreign Central Banks and responding to tenders for the production of foreign coin programs.
The Duties
The duties of this position include:
Providing support and advice to the senior executive on a range of issues pertaining to the Australian and foreign circulating coin programs.
Managing the operational relationships with the four major commercial banks in Australia, as well as select foreign Central Banks, relating to circulating coin requirements.
Developing and maintaining high quality relationships with existing and new clients to cultivate long term strategic partnerships.
Developing a network of industry peers to understand the Australian payment landscape, trends, emerging risks and opportunities for the Mint.
Analysing data, undertaking research, producing reports and being a leading input into enhancing circulating coin operations.
Monitoring and managing performance against contracted conditions with key clients.
Developing meaningful relationships across middle management to enable consistent flow of communications, problem solving and provision of high-quality advice to the senior executive.
Developing, planning, scheduling, monitoring and delivering coin programs to agreed standards and outcomes including delivery of programs in full and on time.
Security Clearance
This position requires a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
Mandatory Qualification
A minimum of two years of experience in relationship management, business management, B2B Sales or similar.
