About the role
Join the City of Canning on a permanent, full-time basis, and deliver outstanding customer service to the Canning community through professional library services.
A snapshot of your new role:
* Contribute to the management of the library's physical and digital collections, including cataloguing, resource maintenance, acquisition, supplier liaison and management of inter-library loans.
* Provide hands on technical and operational support across library systems and technology - troubleshooting issues, coordinating IT projects and upgrades, liaising with system vendors, and supporting makerspace equipment and digital programs.
* Plan, promote, and deliver engaging programs and services that foster literacy, lifelong learning, and community connection, in line with organisational strategies.
* Collaborate on marketing and communication initiatives that highlight library collections, programs, and digital services to the wider community.
What you will bring to the role:
* A Diploma in Library Technology (ALIA accredited) OR a relevant tertiary qualification, supported by proven skills and experience in library services.
* 3-5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within a public library environment.
* Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering children's programs and activities that inspire literacy, creativity, and lifelong learning.
* Strong digital literacy and technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot digital applications and use social media and other platforms to promote library services and programs.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.
* Valid Working With Children Check.
* Current WA Driver's Licence.
* Current valid National Police Clearance.
