Key Responsibilities
* Lead daily operations of a correctional team in line with established policies and standards set by Corrections Victoria.
* Apply security principles to maintain a safe and secure prison environment through effective practices.
* Collaborate with all facility members to ensure safety and security of prisoners, staff, and visitors. This includes maintaining external and internal security integrity, appropriate levels of surveillance and interaction within the facility, and ensuring compliance with security and safety procedures.
About You
* Experience and skills relevant to correctional delivery or statutory environments, staff management, and offender case management.
* Knowledge and ability to apply relevant legislation, policy, and procedure relating to Corrections Victoria and its facilities.
* Demonstrated leadership ability in a correctional setting.
* Commitment to working with staff, prisoners, and other service providers for an integrated whole-of-Justice approach to reducing re-offending.
Qualifications
* Prior to commencement, you will need to obtain a current Statement of Attainment for HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.
* A full Victorian driver's licence or minimum P2 driver's licence is required.
* Completion of Prison Officer Pre-service Training or willingness to undertake and complete this training is necessary.
* Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Custodial) or similar is desirable.
